Homegrown veggies are great in fall and winter, too
Summer — and summer vegetables — won’t be with us forever. If you’d like to extend your edible gardening into fall and winter, now is the time to be planning and planting.
The El Dorado County master gardeners can help get those cool-season veggies off to a good start with tips in a class this Saturday, Aug. 16.
The class will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cameron Park Community Center, 2502 Country Club Drive in Cameron Park.
Master gardener Zack Dowell will lead the free class. Registration is requested but not required. Register here.
The El Dorado master gardeners also have an impressive demonstration garden in Placerville, at the El Dorado Center of Folsom Lake College. The Sherwood Demonstration Garden is open for visits Friday and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon through October. Learn more here.
