Sacramento Chrysanthemum Society celebrates 78th annual show
These mums offer plenty to talk about – in all shapes, sizes and colors. See for yourself Saturday at the 78th annual Sacramento Chrysanthemum Show and Sale at Shepard Garden and Arts Center in McKinley Park. Parking and admission are free.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, the Sacramento Chrysanthemum Society will fill Shepard Center with this favorite fall flower. In 13 distinct flower forms, mums come in virtually every color except blue and true black plus many combinations.
This is a condensed, one-day show and sale. In past years, the Sacramento club spread this event over an entire weekend. Instead, the 2025 show and sale will be packed into just five hours open to the public – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Learn how to grow and care for mums, one of the best plants for fall color in Sacramento. Take some mums home, too; the club will offer scores of potted mums in 1-gallon pots – just about ready to pop. They make perfect decorations or gifts for Thanksgiving. Come early for best selection.
In addition, the Sacramento Floral Design Guild will exhibit creative arrangements featuring fresh mums.
Shepard Center is located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, in McKinley Park.
