Holiday Open House this weekend at The Plant Foundry
The Plant Foundry breaks out the holiday cheer this weekend with its Holiday Open House, coinciding with Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29.
An appearance by Santa Claus highlights the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to noon. The nursery itself will be open its usual Saturday hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for shopping. Christmas trees (noble and silvertip), plus wreaths and garlands, are available, along with holiday plants, decor and gift items.
A fun tradition: The Plant Foundry names all its Christmas trees. In past years, customers have taken home such notables as Lando Calrissian, Colin Hanks, Brandon Belt and Lucille Ball.
The nursery at 3500 Broadway, in Sacramento’s Triangle District, was expected to move this year to another Oak Park site, but that has been delayed.
Look for Aretha, the nursery’s cat, to be supervising the holiday greenery — and the supply of catnip plants.
The Triangle District includes many locally owned shops and restaurants, a good location for anyone looking to #shopsmall this year.
