Shepard Center hosts huge fall sale

Fall is prime time for planting. That also makes it a wonderful time to get new plants as well as for planning ahead.

Do both – buying plants and planning – at this weekend’s Shepard Center Fall Sale.

Set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6, this huge event fills the center’s patio and main rooms. Dozens of garden and craft clubs that call the center home are expected to participate.

Among the items offered for sale will be many kinds of plants, gardening gadgets, books, artwork, jewelry, antiques, ceramics and more.

Looking for a new hobby or club to join? This is also an opportunity to learn about these local clubs and their activities. Get expert advice, too, from the many plant enthusiasts in attendance.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free.

Shepard Center is located at 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, in McKinley Park.
