Tickets on sale for Capay Valley’s ‘Rustic Ramble’
Experience spring – farm-to-picnic style – during the annual “Rustic Ramble” through Capay Valley.
Tickets are now on sale for this family-friendly event highlighting more than a dozen orchards, organic farms, lavender fields, gardens and more. The self-guided tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26.
Proceeds support Capay Valley Vision and Capay Valley Grown. Tickets for the farm and garden tour are $30 adults, $5 children.
“The Rustic Ramble is a self-guided farm and garden tour that invites you to explore the rich agricultural landscape of the Capay Valley, from farm fields to thoughtfully designed gardens while meeting the growers – and some animals – who steward the land,” say the organizers. “Along the way, enjoy hands-on activities, tour, and tastings, and build a deeper connection to the vibrant Capay Valley!”
This tour comes in two parts: The Farm and Garden Trail and an optional “Taste of Capay Picnic.”
“Whether you’re passionate about farming, food, or simply looking to spend a day in the countryside, the Rustic Ramble offers a unique opportunity to experience the best of the Capay Valley,” add the hosts.
The Farm & Garden Trail features a curated selection of more than 15 farms and gardens. Tour them at your own pace.
“Meet local farmers and Capay Valley residents, learn about regenerative practices, and experience the Valley’s agricultural diversity firsthand,” say the hosts. “Several sites will offer tours and other experiences.”
Among the featured stops: Capay Hills Orchard; Capay Valley Lavender; Durst Organic Growers; Full Belly Farm; Good Humus Produce; Grumpy Goats Farm; Luna Lavender Farms; Pasture 42; Vitis & Ovis Farm; and Sun Tracker Farm.
The Taste of Capay Picnic, open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. tour day at Polestar Farm in Esparto, includes “farm-fresh bites crafted by local chefs and local beer and refreshments,” say the hosts. “Savor the flavors of the valley while soaking in the scenic beauty of the countryside.”
Tickets for the picnic alone are $55 adults, $25 children. Combination tickets, including the tour and picnic, are $70 adults, $30 children.
The tour will happen rain or shine, organizers say. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. Pets are not permitted (service animals excepted).
