See beautiful fish, garden ponds during koi tour
This tour elevates the meaning of “gone fishing.” No hooks necessary.
These beautiful fish aren’t meant to be caught but admired. They’re gorgeous koi in all their variations.
On Saturday, April 25, the Camellia Koi Club of Sacramento will host a free self-guided tour of local koi ponds, mostly in private backyards. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., see these amazing fish – and gorgeous gardens – at your own pace.
But you better hurry to sign up; registration closes today (Friday), April 17. Sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/free-2026-pond-tour-self-guided-tickets-1981989584200
Once registered, patrons will receive a map of pond locations with detailed descriptions. Participating ponds are located in Lincoln, Wilton, Gold River, Carmichael, Land Park, South Sacramento, Natomas, Folsom, Elk Grove and Granite Bay.
“Fill your car with friends and family, grab a coffee at your favorite local spot to start the tour and have a nice lunch break in between your drive, while you enjoy a day of aquatic beauty!” say the hosts.
This tour highlights the many variations of koi – and of koi ponds.
“Step into a world of serenity, artistry, and natural beauty right here in the Sacramento and surrounding areas,” say the hosts. “The Camellia Koi Club invites you to experience a truly special, self-guided pond tour showcasing some of the region’s most exquisite private ponds and koi collections.
“Explore at your own pace, select stops that inspire you most, and enjoy an up-close look at stunning water features, vibrant koi, and beautifully landscaped gardens. Each stop offers a unique glimpse into the passion and creativity behind these living works of art.”
This is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about koi and how to create your own pond – as well as learn about the Camellia Koi Club.
“Founded in 1981, the Camellia Koi Club brings together koi enthusiasts from across the greater Sacramento Region who share a love for the art of keeping, breeding, appreciating, and exhibiting koi,” say the hosts.
“Our monthly meetings welcome both newcomers and seasoned hobbyists, offering opportunities to learn about pond design, koi health, and ongoing koi education. Become a member and be part of a vibrant community that values friendship, learning and a shared passion for koi.”
