Savor tomatoes at special tasting event

Now here’s an evening that you can sink your teeth into – while learning about the complexity of tomato flavor.

Tickets are now on sale for “Tomato Tastings,” a special seated event hosted by the agricultural organization find out farms in collaboration with Slow Food Sacramento and Root 64, an urban farmstand in Sacramento’s Tallac Village.

This informative workshop will be held Aug. 11 at find out farms in Sacramento. Registration opens at 6:30 p.m. with the tasting starting promptly at 7 p.m. (No late admittance.) Tickets are $55.20 (including fees) and available via EventBrite. Expect to sample a wide range of tomatoes, big and small and in a rainbow of hues.

“We experience the world around us through our senses. Taste is a way of knowing,” say the hosts. “Tomato Tastings will be a seating event where attendees will be provided the framework to take a deep dive into the favor of tomatoes. Comparing varieties side by side, we will experience a range of Sacramento’s locally grown and freshly harvested tomatoes.”
