Get crafty with plants at this Friday night workshop

Ready for a hot August night – of garden-inspired crafting?

Friday evening, Aug. 22, The Secret Garden in Elk Grove will host “Summer Cottage Craft Night,” a hands-on opportunity to add some whimsy to your home and garden.

“Join us for a fun night creating charming keepsakes in the garden!” say the hosts. “At one station, you’ll craft a darling 6-inch heart-shaped succulent wreath using floral wiring techniques. Then, get busy creating a set of three tiny terracotta pot magnets, adorned with dried florals. It’s an evening of hands-on creativity, connection, and cozy cottage vibes.”

The $25 admission includes two walk-up craft stations plus light refreshments. Participants can choose either 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. slots to start their projects. (Last call for crafts is 6:45pm.)

Before or after crafting, patrons can enjoy 15% discounts on all houseplants and gift shop items. The nursery and gift shop will remain open until 7:15 p.m. (Crafters must register before the event.)

“Wander through our shade garden, connect with fellow plant lovers and makers, and soak in the summer night magic,” say the hosts.

The Secret Garden, Elk Grove’s destination nursery and garden gift store, is well known for its vast succulent selection and creative ways to use those interesting plants. The event’s heart-shaped wreaths can be hung on a door or wall or used as a table centerpiece, indoors or out.

The Secret Garden is located at 8450 W. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove.
