High-Hand hosts annual tree lighting extravaganza

Need a boost of holiday cheer? Then, head to Loomis this weekend for a twinkling extravaganza.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, High-Hand Nursery, Café and Brewery will host its annual tree lighting ceremony. The destination nursery does a lot more than light one tree; it puts the sparkle all over the place with thousands of lights.

Be there at 5:15 p.m. Everything should be sparkling by 5:30. Besides the visual spectacle, High-Hand will get visitors in the holiday mood with plenty of music.

“From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., we’ll feature a special live performance by ‘Encore at Christmas,’ an eight-member group of Dickens Carolers in full Victorian attire, spreading cheer with classic holiday carols,” say the hosts.

Come hungry (and thirsty), too. High-Hand’s famous Café will kick off its annual Christmas Dinner service on Saturday (book reservations in advance). Or stop by High-Hand’s popular brewery.

After Saturday, the Café will continue its festive Christmas Dinner service 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights through Dec. 20. (Reservations strongly advised.)

Admission and parking are free. High-Hand is located at 3750 Taylor Road, Loomis.
