Great plants for sale in Woodland this Saturday

Can you get a better recommendation for certain plants than those grown by master gardeners?

The Yolo County master gardeners will hold the first of two spring plant sales on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take advantage of their propagation expertise and check out the sale at Woodland Community College, 2300 E. Gibson Road, Woodland.

The second day of the sale will be April 11, same time and location. Both are rain-or-shine events.

Among the plants for sale will be drought-tolerant ornamentals, including California natives, pollinator-friendly perennials and annuals that attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. They also will have many varieties of tomato plants (including heirloom varieties). See the list of varieties at the bottom of this post.

Quart-size pots will be priced $5, annuals $3, and 4-inch tomato pots $4 (plus tax where applicable). Cash, check and credit will be accepted.

Woodland Community College is the site of demonstration and training gardens that Yolo master gardeners maintain in cooperation with the college’s Horticultural Department.
